Hilton Helsinki Airport – Review
I arrived at Helsinki Airport on a trans-Atlantic flight at nine in the morning with the hope that I would be able to check in to the Hilton Helsinki Airport early in order to catch a nap before my meetings. Getting to the hotel, which adjoins the airport, was a little more frustrating than it should have been, though. It was a bit of a circuitous hike through various walkways outside the terminal, compounded by the fact that signage to, and, for, the hotel was far too discreet, and easy to miss.
Once I arrived at the hotel, however, I was put at ease by the expansive, modern lobby, and warm and accommodating front desk staff. I presented my Hilton HHonors card and was able to check in early, much to my delight. The desk agent asked if I needed the Wi-Fi code, and for how many days, giving me passwords for both days of my stay.
I took the elevator to my Executive Floor room, which featured a cheery décor of contemporary fabrics and artwork, and white and blonde wood furnishings, including a king-size bed and a flat-screen TV. The bathroom had a separate tub and shower, and blissful heated floors.
ROAD WARRIOR SUPPORT
The room included a spacious work desk with a comfortable ergonomic chair. I had no trouble with the Wi-Fi, which was consistently speedy, and at no additional charge.
A buffet breakfast and refreshments are served in the Executive Lounge daily, and being able to have a quick breakfast on the same floor as my room helped me save time. The lounge also features large windows, a fireplace, and plenty of comfortable seating.
The hotel also offers 12 meeting rooms, a boardroom, a ballroom, a business center with computers, and a gym with sauna.
After I checked out, I used a kiosk in the lobby to check in to Finnair and print out my luggage tag for my return. I found it a relief to be able to complete this portion of the process before arriving at the terminal.
