Sony announced its first smartphones under the Sony Mobile Communications brand at the CES show in Las Vegas.  The new Xperia ion supports 4G LTE and has a high-definition 720p display with a 12-megapixel camera.  The new Xperia S also will support 3D image capture.

Sony unveiled 13 new Handycam camcorders with a new stabilization system called Balanced Optical Ready Shot.

The Z Series is new to the Sony Walkman line of MP3 players and the devices support wireless (to certain DLNA devices) and HDMI connections.

The new Sony Tablet S features a 9.4” display and the Sony Tablet P has a dual-screen layout with two 5.5” displays, each of which can be used separately (they can also be combined into one large screen if desired).
