Norwegian Air Makes $22 Billion Aircraft Purchase, Largest Ever in Europe

Oslo-based Norwegian Air Shuttle, the third-largest low cost carrier in Europe, announced that it has placed orders for $22 billion worth of aircraft, including 100 Airbus A320s and 122 Boeing 737s. The aircraft  purchase is the largest one that has ever been made in Europe.

Norwegian is the first European airline to purchase the Boeing 737 Max and has purchased 100 of the fuel-efficient aircraft.

The new aircraft will be delivered starting in 2016.  Norwegian currently has 62 aircraft comprised of 48 737-800s and 14 14 737-300s.
