Bill to Speed Airport Screening of Troops Signed
By Eva Leonard on 4 January 2012
President Barack Obama has signed a bill designed to speed airport screening for members of the
armed forces and their families, when the service person is traveling on orders, in uniform, and through a primary airport.
The new law calls for the TSA to consider using existing trusted traveler programs to do so. The TSA is also to establish standard guidelines for the screening of military uniform items, such as combat boots.
