Kingfisher Airlines to Join Oneworld Alliance
India’s Kingfisher Airlines will become a member of the oneworld Alliance effective February 10, 2012.
Kingfisher’s approval to join oneworld followed its successful completion of a readiness review overseen by the airline’s oneworld sponsor, British Airways. Kingfisher currently serves 54 destinations, 46 of which are in India, with principal hubs in Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai.
Other airlines scheduled to follow Kingfisher in joining oneworld in 2012 include airberlin and Malaysia Airlines. The addition of the three airlines will bring oneworld’s network to a total of 850 destinations.
