On Heels of First U.S. Hotel’s Debut, Rezidor to Expand Radisson Blu in Greece, Serbia
The Rezidor Hotel Group’s Radisson Blu brand is making its debut in Greece with a new property in Athens.
Rezidor plans to rebrand the 152-room Athens Park Hotel, in the north of the city center, as Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens by the end of 2011. Renovations are scheduled for completion in 2012. The hotel has two restaurants (one rooftop), a bar, two meeting rooms, and a rooftop pool with views of Athens.
Rezidor also plans to develop the Radisson Blu brand in Eastern Europe, and is scheduled to open a 236-room property in Belgrade, Serbia, adjacent to the convention center, in 2013. The company opened its first U.S. property, the Radisson Blu Aqua (pictured), on North Columbus Drive in Chicago on October 31. The Radisson Blu Aqua offers free Wi-Fi for guests and has 334 rooms and suites. Its Business Class rooms on the executive floor include access to the Business Lounge and 1000 Carlson Club points for each stay.
