Tumi Alpha Flap Zip Leather Crossbody Review
2011 may very well be the year of the tablet computer and that presents the business traveler with a problem: how to best carry one’s iPad or similar device.
With its screen size of 9.7”, the iPad is clearly not a pocketable device. This is actually creating a dilemma for many people in terms of how to safely carry a tablet. I noticed many people carrying their iPads around in slipcases but these don’t really afford a lot of protection and such cases have little or no space for anything else.
The Tumi Alpha Flap Zip Leather Crossbody, while not specifically intended for a tablet, is the perfect and elegant solution given its rich, soft Napa leather exterior.
With external dimensions of 10″ x 14.5″ x 2.25″, it was easy to stow my iPad inside. I also tried a new 11” MacBook Air and it fit perfectly as well (larger notebooks probably won’t fit, however).
The Crossbody has an open back pocket plus multiple pockets under the flap that are perfect for a wallet, passport, keys (there’s a key hook), phone (there’s a separate pocket for that too), and pens. If you are wondering what to do with your tablet, the Crossbody bag represents what I consider to be the perfect solution to its safe passage.
